[Pluto-help] kernel 2.4.x e moduli

ciao a tutti.
	sto cercando di ricompilare kernel 2.4.2-2 e 2.4.3-12 su una RH7.1. Il 
problema è che non riesco a compilare nulla come modulo: fino a quando 
non elimino tutte le voci che ho indicato come moduli, la fase di "make 
dep" mi restituisce una sfilza di "unresolved symbol".

Metto "y" dappertutto in "make xconfig" e le cose vanno - anche se è 
seccante avere fissi dei supporti che si vorrebbero come moduli, perché 
usati saltuariamente.

Il problema grosso sorge quando tento di compilare successivamente i 
driver corretti per il modem (winmodem PCTel per notebook).
La compilazione va a gonfie vele, ma quando tento "insmod xxx" mi dà una 
sfilza di "unresolved symbol" che non mi consentono di rendere 
funzionante il modem.... :(

non è che, per caso, è necessario adottare accorgimenti particolari per 
la compilazione di kernel 2.4.x ???
