In effetti il file che ho trovato su linuxant e' lo stesso.
Oltre a quello c'era il file deb che pero' era solo per architetture
i386 mentre la mia e' powerpc.
La procedura di installazione cita:
1. extract the package with "tar -xzf hcfpcimodem-{version}.tar.gz"
("tar -xzf hcfusbmodem-{version}.tar.gz" for the USB version)
2. change to the package directory with "cd hcfpcimodem-{version}"
("cd hcfusbmodem-{version}" for the USB version)
3. run "make install" from the top of the package directory.
4. run "hcfpciconfig" ("hcfusbconfig" for the USB version) to complete
the installation and configure your modem.

Eseguendo hcfpciconfig ottengo:
debibook:/home/giuseppe/Modem/hcfusbmodem-1.05powerpcfull# hcfusbconfig
Conexant HCF controllerless USB modem driver, version 1.05powerpcfull

        http://www.linuxant.com/

When reporting a problem for the first time, please send

Se utilizzo la cartella che suggerisce
lui /lib/modules/2.6.11.2-ibookg3/build ottengo:

Cosa manca?? Il percorso esiste ma il file version.h no.
Penso che manchi qualcosa al mio kernel ma non so cosa.
Se proseguo l'installazione si chiude con un errore:

Building modules for kernel 2.6.11.2, using source directory
/usr/src/linux-2.6.11.2-cnxttmp6681. Please wait...
done.

ERROR: hcfusb driver not active

Qualcuno sa aiutarmi?

Ho trovato un thread

forum di linuxant in cui una persona ha il mio stesso problema ma non
c'e' soluzione.
