[PLUTO-help] samba: impossibile modificare la cartella public...

Ho installato samba samba-3.0.20-r1 su Gentoo, non riesco a scrivere 
sulla cartella public e non riesco a spiegarmelo questo e smb.conf:

questo e' ls -l della cartella dell'utente samba:

ls -l /home/samba/public/
totale 0
-rwxrw-rw-  1 samba users 0 17 ott 17:32 test

questo e' ls -l della cartella share montata:

s -l /mnt/winxp/
totale 0
-rwxr-xr-x  1 root root 0 17 ott 17:32 test

Come vedete una volta montata prende proprietario e gruppo di chi l'ha 
montata...e cmq con quei permessi nemmeno se sn root riesco a 
modificarla...è cm se l'utente che agisce sulla share sia samba ma il 
proprietario dei file che originariamente sarebbe samba nel montaggio 
diventa root...dove sbaglio? devo specificare uid e gid nel montaggio 
per caso?
