[PLUTO-tech] due problemi

Salve a tutti, 
	sono un utente di Linux "in erba", uso la Red Hat 9.0 e ho due 
problemi che non riesco a risolvere da solo.
Il primo e' che il CD-Rom/masterizzatore (modello PHILIPS CDRW804)non 
funziona piu' correttamente. 
Non mi ha dato problemi per lungo tempo, ma un giorno ho masterizzato un CD 
dati con xcdroast. La fase di chiusura del CD e' durata un'eternità (tipo 
sei-sette minuti), dopodichè mi ha sputato il CD (che con mia sorpresa non 
era bruciato, ma funzionava bene) e da allora, qualunque CD inserisca, sia 
pieno che vuoto, il mount non va a buon fine e mi restituisce l'errore "no 
medium found".

Il secondo problema e' piu' settoriale. Per la mia tesi di laurea sto 
utilizzando Omnet++ 2.3, e vorrei installare la IPv6 Suite, ma mi viene 
richiesto di installare la libreria xerces-c e questa cosa non va mai a buon 
fine. 
Il comando che impartisco e':

rpmbuild --rebuild xerces-c-1.7.0_0.src.rpm

Sullo schermo appaiono migliaia di righe di output che terminano col 
seguente errore:

I have built the xerces-c on a stock redhat 9 system and it worked.

I did a search on google on the undefined versioned error and it appears 
that you may have incompatible libraries installed or updated your 
compiler since C++ ABI always changes between major versions. 

Can you give me the output of the following command

rpm -qa --last > rpmlist.txt 

and forward this file to me directly.
