Che tipo di software vorresti usare per editare un file?
Potresti provare ad usare kwrite ( sotto KDE )
oppure un generico 'pico' da tastiera
oppure un 'vim' o 'gvim' oppure ...

Dimmi solo quello che vuoi fare e con cosa....
