[PLUTO-help] Compilazione programma

Salve,
ho lanciato ./configure per la compilazione di un programma, ma ha 
terminato con il seguente messaggio d'errore:

checking for gcc... gcc
checking whether the C compiler (gcc  ) works... yes
checking whether the C compiler (gcc  ) is a cross-compiler... no
checking whether we are using GNU C... yes
checking whether gcc accepts -g... yes

checking for g++... no
checking for gcc... gcc
checking whether the C++ compiler (gcc  ) works... no
configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C++ compiler 
cannot create executables.

cosa vuol dire???? Io dovrei avere installato il gcc! Se ho ben capito 
non può creare un eseguibie?!?! Perchè????
