[PLUTO-help] Configurare una connessione internet

Ho scaricto il tool "rp-pppoe" per la configurazione di una connessione
ADSL con modem ethernet, che credo sia abbastanza conosciuto.
Tutta la procedura è andata bene, i comandi sono stati installati e così
via.
Arriva il momento che do il comando per connettermi.

Come si vede dal comando ping, la connesione esiste (forse) ma di fatto
io non riesco a collegarmi sulla rete.
Ho provato ad impostare in /etc/ppp/pppoe.conf un USER sballato per
vedere se la connessione era in realtà fasulla, ma il comando adsl-start
mi restituiva errore come è giusto che sia --> io REALMENTE dovrei
essere connesso.

Una cosa che non mi è chiara, e che si vede anche dal comando ping, è il
campo "from". Dovrebbe essere il mio IP, ma è anche il famigerato 
"servername" cel file /etc/resolv.conf.
Io su questo file ho provato a mettere come parametri del servername i
due DNS di virgilio, ma dopo che effettuo la connessione non so per
quale motivo il secondo "nameserver" viene cancellato dal file, e il
primo sostituito con 198.168.1.1

Io questo sono riuscito a faree e a capire... se qualcuno sa dove può
essere l'intoppo vi prego di dirmelo... non ce la facciopiù :(
