[PLUTO-help] kernel 2.6 e pen drive

Salve a tutti,
anche se un po' in ritardo sono passato dal 2.4 al kernel 2.6 (2.6.13.4).
Il problema è che ora non riesco più a montare la penna usb.
Anche dopo averla inserita, la directory /proc/bus/usb/ rimane vuota e
in /dev non compare nessun dispositivo tipo sda* (rimane anche spento
il led che di solito si accende quando la collego al PC).
In allegato copio (dopo aver inserito la penna) i file DMESG e
messages contenuti in /var/log/
Qualche idea? Udev necessita di qualche configurazione particolare?!?

PS: uso una slackware 10.0 e la penna in questione (che col kernel 2.4
fungeva) è una opiumex 256MB
