quello che dice gianluca è corretto, l'ho constato se collego i due AP poi 
loro vanno collegati ad uno switch ed i pc alla rete fisica... mi torna!

però la modalità Bridge nel mio AP non la trovo, ho:
Access Point
WDS with AP
WDS
AP Repeater
AP Client

se quello che dici è giusto, e l'ho letto anche nel manuale dlink: 
The DWL-2100AP features WDS (Wireless Distribution System) that can be 
configured to perform in any one of five modes: a Wireless Access Point, a 
Point-to-Point (PtP) bridge with another DWL-2100AP, a Point-to-Multipoint 
(PtMP) bridge, a Repeater for range extension, or as a Wireless Client. The 
WDS feature makes the DWL-2100AP an ideal solution for quickly creating and 
extending a wireless local area network (WLAN) in offices or other 
workplaces, or even at hotspots.

se faccio così:
1° AP mode WDS
   nessun client wireless si connette
2° AP cmode WDS with AP
   collegato allo switch
         allo switch collego stampante + altro PC
   5 pc client wireless collegati

dovrebbe funzionare, giusto?

i 2 AP che uso sono identici e della stessa marca (D-Link DWL-2100AP)
