[PLUTO-help] Gentoo: Riconoscimento Scheda Ethernet

Salve a tutti: 
ho installato la gentoo ma durante il booting non viene riconsciuta la scheda ethernet. Quella stessa scheda ethernet che invece andava da Dio durante l'installazione dal CD e pingava il mondo!
ho provato a rilanciare "netmount start" da "/etc/init.d/" e l'output è il seguente:

* Catching service dependencies ...... [ok]
* Starting eth0
*    Bringing up eth0
*       dhcp
*          eth0 does not exist         [!!]
* ERROR: Problem starting needed services.
*        "netmount" was not started

Avete idea di cosa posso fare?
